Eystein Church

Eysteinkyrkja is located along the Gudbrandsdalsleden pilgrimage route, and is a pilgrimage church at Hjerkinn in Dovrefjell.

The church was designed by Magnus Paulsson, and its forms are inspired by the mountain formations in the Snøhetta area. It was built in 1969 as a church for pilgrims and other travelers crossing the mountains.

Every summer, Eysteinkyrkja serves as a meeting place, information point, and church for pilgrims and visitors. The Dovrefjell Pilgrim Centre serves pilgrims from here, and everyone is welcome to stop by for a quiet moment, a conversation, a stamp, or information about the onward route toward Trondheim.

Opening hours for summer 2026 will be announced later.
