On two Sundays this summer, 26 July and 23 August, we invite you to join a guided tour of the Bortistu Cultural Heritage Trail.
The walk begins at Bortistu and the neighbouring farms in Storligrenda, before continuing along the hillside towards Vassenden. Along the way, you'll hear stories about life in the Storlidalen valley in earlier times and visit several fascinating cultural and historical sites, including kettle holes left behind by the last Ice Age, a hunting trap system more than 1,000 years old, and an old soapstone quarry.
At Kvannflatløa, a historic hay barn dating from 1811, we'll take a break to enjoy freshly brewed coffee and homemade waffles before continuing the hike.
Meeting point: Bortistu, 11:00 AM
Duration: Approximately 4 hours
Price: NOK 290 (includes refreshments)
The trail follows old footpaths and animal tracks and is, at times, rocky and uneven (moderate difficulty), so sturdy walking shoes are recommended. The route is not suitable for strollers or wheelchairs.
We look forward to welcoming you!
