Stølen and Fagerhaug

North of Oppdal’s town center, you’ll find a beautiful and sheltered cross-country skiing area. Here, you can also visit Oppdal’s most popular lean-to shelter – Guriberget.

From the center of Oppdal, the cross-country trail winds northeast toward Stølen and Fagerhaug. There’s a large parking area 200 meters past Stølen, near Oppdal Ski Center. This is the perfect starting point for a great cross-country experience – whether alone or with others. Enjoy grilling sausages in a sheltered forest area or feel the sense of being high up in the mountains. The Stølen and Fagerhaug areas offer a wide range of nature experiences.

A popular destination for families with young children is Guriberget, Oppdal’s most visited shelter during winter. Other great but longer trips include Stavsjøen or Fjellskolen, with trails measuring 9 and 11.5 kilometers from Stølen, respectively. The circular route Vora Rundt is also highly recommended.

You can also access the trail network from the Fagerhaug side – see map.
